Press Releases
Premier letting at 40 Springardens
Date: 17th December 2008
Langtree has secured a new tenant at its Grade A office scheme, 40 Springardens in Manchester city centre.
Premier Foods, the UK’s largest food producer with brands including Hovis, Branston and Mr Kipling, has agreed a 10 year lease and is set to occupy the first and second floors of the building totalling 22,853 sq ft. The move will create 240 new jobs in 2009 as the company brings its finance and administrative functions under one roof for the first time and creates a new centre of excellence for its SAP information technology platform. Premier Foods is currently carrying out a fit out of its new office. Premier Foods had considered a number of other potential buildings before opting for 40 Springardens. However, the superior specification and the size of the floorplates of the building together with its prime location within the established heart of the city and easy access to public transport links, meant that 40 Springardens was the ideal choice for them. John Downes, Managing Director of Langtree, says: "We are delighted to have secured this high profile tenant. The fact that we were able to respond quickly to the tight timescales that Premier Foods were working to proves that we have the facilities to accommodate a wide variety of requirements. We now only have the third and fourth floor vacant with suites available from 5,000 sq ft." John Ogden, Director at CBRE acted on behalf of Premier Foods and comments: " We are delighted that our clients have chosen Manchester city centre as their new base and the fact that they have chosen 40 Springardens, a building in the true core of the central business district, reflects that it is still an unrivalled location for companies who place their employees' needs high on their agenda. The building is well located for public transport hubs, retail amenities and offers a great working environment." WHR Property Consultants and CBRE are the joint letting agents.
